Lake District Tree of Light

Keswick Rotary Club

Rotary in Keswick

Keswick Rotary Club was formed in 1941 and currently comprises over 30 members.  Men and women from a wide variety of backgrounds and occupations, many of whom are retired and drawn from the Keswick Area but all committed to the Rotary motto which is ‘Service above Self’.

Our aim is to serve our local community and to help address wider humanitarian needs.

For example, in the Keswick area we raise funds for Charities and Voluntary Organisations, we run a number of youth competitions in conjunction with Keswick School and we organise social events for local Senior Citizens.

On a wider stage we are involved in several International Projects which include helping to eradicate blindness in India through ‘SecondSight’, support to coffee growers in Ethiopia and providing emergency shelter at times of disaster through ‘Shelterbox’

We also enjoy an active social calendar when we are often joined by our partners.

The Club meets weekly for lunch at the Skiddaw Hotel between 12.30 and 2.00pm every Thursday, and where there is a fifth Thursday the meeting is usually held in the evening at 7.30 pm. The meetings are conducted in an atmosphere of goodwill and good humour.

New members are always welcome so if you are interested in joining then please visit our website or simply come along to one of our meetings.
